- Scar or Visceral Therapy
A gentle, specialist hands-on treatment for scars, abdominal tension, post-surgical recovery and areas of the body that feel tight, restricted, sensitive or disconnected. This treatment may be helpful after C-sections, abdominal surgery, hysterectomy, keyhole surgery, mastectomy or breast surgery, endometriosis surgery, injury, or other operations. It can also support people who feel tightness, pulling, bloating, discomfort, or restriction around the abdomen, pelvis, ribs or scar tissue. Treatment may include gentle scar massage, soft tissue techniques, visceral therapy, breath work, movement and advice for home care. The aim is not to “break down” or erase scar tissue, but to help the tissues glide and move more comfortably, reduce sensitivity, improve confidence with movement, and help you reconnect with your body. Scar & Visceral Therapy may help with: Tightness, pulling or discomfort around scars C-section scar discomfort or sensitivity Abdominal tightness or restriction Reduced movement through the ribs, abdomen or pelvis A feeling of disconnection after birth, surgery or trauma Post-surgical recovery and confidence returning to movement Areas that feel numb, sensitive, stuck or “not quite yours” Your appointment will always be calm, respectful and led by you. We’ll talk through your history, look at how the scar and surrounding area are moving, and create a treatment plan that feels right for your body. This is not about forcing your body to “let go”. It’s about listening to what your body has been through, helping things move more freely, and giving you clear, practical advice so you understand what’s happening. Please note: Bookings made on a Tuesday will be at The Space, Burston, and Bookings made on Thursdays will be at Poppy's Yoga studio in Redgrave.
