A proper postnatal check for your body
Your body has been through a lot. Pregnancy, birth, recovery, sleep deprivation, lifting, feeding, carrying… and often very little time to actually check in with how you’re doing.
You might feel mostly fine.
Or you might notice things that don’t feel quite right.
A weaker core.
Leaking when you cough or run.
A feeling of heaviness.
A gap in your tummy that hasn’t improved.
Or just a sense that your body doesn’t feel like yours anymore.
The Mummy MOT® is a specialist postnatal assessment designed to look at all of this properly, and help you understand what’s going on in your body.
As a physio, and a mum of two young children, I understand how easy it is to put yourself to the bottom of the list. This is a space to change that.

What is a Mummy MOT®?
The Mummy MOT® is a detailed, one-to-one postnatal assessment with a specialist trained physiotherapist.
It looks at how your body has recovered after pregnancy and birth, including:
-
Your abdominal muscles and any separation (diastasis recti)
-
Your pelvic floor function
-
Posture, breathing, and movement
-
Strength and control through your body
-
C-section scar check
This is not a quick check or a generic postnatal appointment. It is a thorough assessment, followed by clear, personalised guidance on what to do next.
Who is it for?
The Mummy MOT® is suitable for any woman after having a baby, whether that was six weeks ago or six years ago.
You don’t need to be in pain. You don’t need a diagnosis. A lot of women come simply because they want to feel stronger, more confident, and more like themselves again. Others come with symptoms they’ve never quite addressed. Both are valid.
What to expect
Your Mummy MOT session lasts around 60 - 90 minutes and gives us time to properly assess what’s happening in your body.
We will talk through your pregnancy, birth, and recovery, as well as any symptoms or concerns you have.
Your assessment may include:
-
A postural and movement assessment
-
An abdominal check
-
A pelvic floor assessment (always optional and with your full consent)
From there, you’ll leave with a clear, practical plan tailored specifically to you. This may include specific exercises, guidance on returning to running or exercise, and advice that fits into real life.
Why it matters
So many women are told to just “get on with it” after having a baby.
Symptoms like leaking, weakness, or discomfort are often brushed off as normal.
They are common. But they are not something you have to put up with.
With the right assessment and support, your body can recover, rebuild, and feel strong and capable again.
