Sarah Deakin, BSc, MSc, MCSP

sarah deakin, pilates, physiotherapy, diss, norfolk

I’m a chartered physiotherapist with 9 years’ experience in the NHS, including 6 years working as a physiotherapist, now working in private practice supporting people to move better, feel stronger, and understand their bodies.

I specialise in musculoskeletal and pelvic health physiotherapy, and I’m also a Mummy MOT® practitioner, Pilates instructor, (including pre-and post natal) and sports massage therapist.

My route into physiotherapy wasn’t completely straightforward. I originally studied Human Sciences at UCL, before a snowboarding knee injury sparked my interest in the body and how it recovers. That led me to retrain as a physiotherapist at UEA, Norwich and I went on to work across hospital settings including stroke and neurology, before specialising in musculoskeletal care.

Supporting you in Norfolk and Suffolk

Chartered Physiotherapist specialising in musculoskeletal conditions, APPI Certified Pilates Instructor, Sports Massage Therapist and HCPC registered

Over time, my work has naturally evolved towards women’s health. After having my own children, I developed a real appreciation for how much the body goes through during pregnancy and beyond, and how little support many women receive afterwards.

I’ve seen first-hand, both personally and professionally, how powerful the right guidance and movement can be in rebuilding strength, confidence, and connection with your body.

I often describe myself as a movement optimist. I don’t believe in telling people what they can’t do. My role is to help you understand your body, and find a way forward that works for you. Whether that’s through physiotherapy, Pilates, or hands-on treatment, the aim is always the same. To help you feel more confident, capable, and comfortable in your body again.

Outside of work, I live on the Norfolk/Suffolk border with my husband and our two young daughters. We spend as much time as we can outdoors, and being active as a family has really reinforced for me how important strength and movement are in everyday life, not just in rehab.
